Planning on Selling Your Home?

If you're thinking about selling your home this year, you're not alone.

Trulia recently conducted a survey of over 2,000 U.S. adults in order to forecast homeownership for 2018. The results show 31 percent of respondents expect 2018 to be a better year for selling a home than 2017 – and only 14 percent expect it to be worse.

So for those of you planning to sell, here are some ways to prepare your home.

Halloween is a fun day of the year where you get to be anything you want to be. But what do you want to be for the rest of the year? If you're like many Americans, that answer is a home-owner, but as the clock ticks and the pressure builds, you are simply too frightened to apply for that mortgage. Don't fret, you're not alone.

This will be one of the largest purchases you will ever make in your life, and it's completely normal to be intimidated by that fact. When you are ready to buy, you'll need to begin the loan application process. The mortgage process can seem complicated but don't let that scare you from buying your first home. You will partner with your lender to figure out if you are eligible for a mortgage.

Here's an infographic that explains the loan application and approval process via Freddie Mac:

When you do finally decide to make that next step, there are important relationships you can form to make the process go smoother. We can't stress enough how important it is to guarantee you are receiving comprehensive title insurance that will protect you from any issues related to the home you're purchasing. When you do purchase that home, recommend a title agency that has years of experience and capacity to support you with any questions you may have during the home-buying process.

For this Halloween, don't be a homeowner who has no title insurance. We can assure you, that is something you should really be scared of. Title insurance will protect you from any disputes over your land, past debts associated with your home, and much more. You don't need to be scared of any title disputes that could happen in the future, if you have a full-service title agency on your side ready to protect you.

Hamlet Title Agency Inc. is a family owned and operated full-service title insurance agency since 2004. Our company was founded with one basic principle in mind: Doing It Better. That's why we treat every client as if they were a member of the family. We know home-buying can be a stressful time, that's why we support you every step of the way and never cut corners. We provide commercial and residential title insurance and are ready to work with you.
